Unknown Into The Known

taken on the campus of UC Santa Cruz.

Embraced by the beyond, the morning fog soaks into my skin, with each step the unknown transforms into the known, the invisible becomes the visible, dew gathers out of the air on the open petals, forming tiny droplets, each a mirror of the world from which it was born; here the answered prayers of life surround me always, unseen gifts given to me freely. I draw my breath from the fog of this life, gathering this visible presence out of the unknown into a mirror where you can see yourself held in the embrace of the beyond.

Poem version:

Embraced By The Beyond

Have you ever felt you were embraced by life and held in the wonder of your surroundings? One of the primary questions on the archetypal journey of life is: How deep is my taproot of trust in life?

From my daily intent for August 15, 2017. Written while attending the Conscious Leadership and Resilience Program with Robert Dilts (SFM3) in Santa Cruz California. The mornings were often a bit foggy and this prose/poem arose as I enjoyed walking in the mist! To read more entries in the Daily Intent series, click the tag at the bottom of the page.

Embraced by the beyond,
the morning fog soaks into my skin,
with each step the unknown
transforms into the known,
the invisible becomes the visible,

dew gathers out of the air
on the open petals, forming
tiny droplets, each a mirror
of the world from which
it was born; here

the answered prayers of life
surround me always,
unseen gifts are
given to me freely.

I draw my breath
from the fog of this life,
gathering this visible presence
out of the unknown into a mirror
where you can see yourself
held in the embrace of the beyond.
